Start with a blank slate and walk through your home and around your property outside as well taking note of anything that needs to be done. From tiny repairs you’ve meant to make for months to bigger projects you’re hoping to get to soon. This quick loop through your home can help you collect a great list from which to start your planning.

Roof & Gutters

Two areas you’ll want to ensure get your attention as we move into spring are your roof and gutters. Ensure that your roof is still in good condition after the winter, and if you have any questions or concerns, now is the time to set up an appointment with a professional. You’ll also want to clear your gutters out at this time of year to ensure trapped debris is removed and doesn't lead to leaking and water damage.

Vents

How clean is the air in your home? And are all your vent systems working properly? Evaluating your HVAC system and dryer vents in the spring is always a good idea. You want to make sure that air is flowing smoothly. If you have air conditioning, it’s worth ensuring that it works now, well before that first sweltering day, so that you’ll have plenty of time should you need to get it repaired.

Yard Clean-Out

One of the biggest spring maintenance tasks is the yard clean-out. With the leaves, branches, and other things that might have blown in over the winter, our yards often need a bit of TLC in the early spring. Whether you’re planning on planting a vegetable garden, doing some landscaping, or simply tending to your lawn, use this time to get everything prepared. Move anything that will be in your way, ensure you have the products you need, and start getting set up to use your outdoor space.
